Project Life: Using PL Cards as Embellishments

Sharing one of the 4 CT layouts that I submitted this February: a spread from October 2014. I haven't blogged about how I document my everyday spreads yet so here are some details: ...

• I use Midnight, Seafoam and Jade kits for this album
• I document by month instead of by week
• The number of sleeves that I use varies each month. It depends on the number of photos that I print
• I'm not really particular about arranging the photos by date
• I don't plan my 'everyday' pages before printing photos
• I insert the photos first and then leave 3 spaces for PL cards
• I assign a color scheme for each month. October 2014's theme is orange, black and gray.
• I organize my photos at the end of each month
• I usually have my photos printed at Photoline (mostly 4x6"). I use Photoshop for combining 2 3x4" pics in one 4x6" document. I have no idea where to print square photos, so I print them in 4x6" paper too. I combine 1 4x4" photo and insert embellishments into the extra 2x4" space:

"Trick or Treat" is from the Halloween Themed Cards set.
"Season's Greetings" is from the Holidays Mini kit.

Here's my *growing* collection of Becky Higgins 'embellishments!' :) I converted some words to black/gray/white so it'll be easy to match them with other cards.

Here's my October spread. The words "Oct" and "Places To Go" are from the digital Bold Planner themed card set. (love the font used in this set - very classy!) "Make Today Awesome" is from the Dazzle mini kit.
